Heather Taddy and Katrina Weidman, co-hosts of "Mysteries on the Map," came to Louisville to check out some of the city's urban legends.

"We are going to various cities throughout the U.S. and exploring different urban legends, haunted locations and just finding out unique things each city has to offer," Taddy told the Courier Journal.

From the Seelbach Hilton Hotel's Lady in Blue, the Pope Lick Monster, and The Witches' Tree at 6th and Park Avenue in Old Louisville, the team explored some of Louisville's most famous urban legends.

"What intrigues us the most about this stuff is the storytelling behind it," Weidman said.

"We have been working as paranormal investigators for 20 years and whenever we travel to these towns, there is always this amazing folklore that surrounds cities and small towns. I think it's just so fascinating to dig in and find out what's behind it. Is it truth or is it more urban legend? What's the genesis of the story?"

The Courier Journal tagged along while the television crew with Hearst’s Very Local visited the Witches' Tree earlier this week.

The "Mysteries on the Map" series premieres Oct. 23. Catch the Louisville episode when you download the streaming app or on WLKY.
