    Louisville metro police auctioning impounded, surplus cars, SUVs, and work trucks

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The Louisville Metro Police Department is holding a digital auction to sell off impounded and surplus vehicles.

    The department currently has 50 vehicles up for auction, including cars, SUVs, and work trucks, with some vehicles being as new as 2015.

    The auction is set to end on Sunday. To bid on or view items up for auction, visit the online auction .

    Purchased vehicles must be picked up within five days of the auction. Vehicles can be picked up at the Louisville police impound lot at 1487 Frankfort Ave.

    LMPD said payment is due within 24 hours after the lots are closed, and all vehicles must be towed from the lot, no matter their condition.
