With Biden out, what's next?: President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he is ending his re-election campaign amidst several calls from his fellow Democrats to drop out of the race, citing concerns about his age and ability to carry out his duties of office.

With Biden's departure, there remain several unknowns in the coming weeks leading up the Democratic National Convention. While Vice President Kamala Harris is widely believed to be called to take the stage as the new Democratic nominee for president, there is a shortlist of potential names that could join the ticket for the vice presidential role, including Gov. Andy Beshear.
