Good morning and happy Tuesday. (You can read today's eNewspaper here .)

According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Louisville, we'll have a slight chance of seeing showers or a thunderstorm during the early morning and after mid-afternoon. We're expected to see a high around 93.

Here are this morning's top stories so far:

An open seat at the table: In the wake of Jefferson County Board of Education member Chris Kolb's resignation, another seat has opened on the board, but it will be contested long before the general election in November.

According to Kentucky statute, the board has just 60 days to fill Kolb's seat and the application period is already underway. The person chosen to replace Kolb will remain until November. The choice comes after Kolb's rocky tenure of late on the board, which began when he sent an open letter to JCPS teachers admonishing them for challenging the district's start time proposal for the upcoming school year.
