A new lawsuit for LMPD: The Louisville Metro Police major whose allegation of sexual harassment by another officer ignited a firestorm that led to the ouster of former Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel is suing the department, several officers and Mayor Craig Greenberg.
Maj. Shannon Lauder, leader of LMPD’s First Division, along with her husband, LMPD SWAT leader Jeffrey Lauder, allege in the lawsuit that the agency is a hostile work environment and engages in retaliation and negligence. Both are currently believed to be on leave pending a sexual misconduct breach-of-policy investigation against them related to events described in the suit. During a Tuesday news conference, Greenberg called the allegations of negligence in his supervision of Gwinn-Villaroel "ridiculous," while others named in the suit have yet to comment on the allegations.
