Better Earth, a sustainable foodservice packaging solutions provider, recently announced its B Corp certification.

The company will donate, as part of the B Corp certification, a portion of profits to initiatives that promote waste reduction, carbon drawdown, and regenerative agriculture. The company also restructured to become a “Public Benefit LLC,” formally incorporating its social and environmental mission.

“Achieving B Corp certification underscores Better Earth’s steadfast vision and mission from the outset,” Savannah Seydel, Better Earth, vice president of Sustainability, said. “The introduction of our Climate Smart Packaging Collection marks just the beginning of our efforts to propel the foodservice industry towards a regenerative, circular future.”

The Climate Smart Packaging line’s Farmer’s Fiber collection is a major component of Better Earth’s sustainability strategy. The line is manufactured in Tennessee using perennial grasses, sourced from more than 40 Southeastern U.S. farmers and landowners, that regenerate soil and sequester one ton of carbon per acre annually and is produced using nearly 60 percent clean renewable energy.

From July 18-19, Better Earth will exhibit the Farmer’s Fiber Collection and its full line of commercially compostable products, at the 2024 NACUFS Conference in Louisville, Ken.

Better Earth offers commercially compostable products, including bowls, containers, cups, cutlery, lids, plates, and trays.
