Grand Island Fire Department gets pet oxygen masks thanks to donation
GRAND ISLAND, Neb.- A fire department in central Nebraska is now more equipped to help pets during a fire thanks to a donation from a local clinic. “They had seen animals come in after a fire and they thought, how can we help this situation, how can we get help to the animals a little bit sooner,” said Fire Chief Cory Schmidt.

Lexington, Neb. - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office welcomes a new addition to the Road Patrol Unit, Deputy Twyford. Deputy Twyford has 11 years of experience in law enforcement. The Road Patrol Unit operates with 12 certified deputies, two of which are Sergeants that supervise those under their command.
Celebrating a century of care: Good Samaritan marks 100 years with community fest
KEARNEY,Neb. — CHI Health Good Samaritan will be celebrating its 100th birthday this Sunday, July 21, 11 am-1 pm. There will be a free, picnic lunch with hot dogs, chips, cupcakes, and ice cream. There will also be live music, bounce houses, summer safety tips for kids and a peek inside a real ambulance. AirCare’s medical helicopter will be landing in Parking Lot N for a meet and greet with the crew.
The Begats coming Thursday to Venue
“The Begats,” repeat performers at The Venue in Albion, will be returning to entertain in Albion this Thursday night, July 18. The Begats were started as a two-man acoustic-folk band by Collin Heiler and Matthew Teeslink, but the band has grown to a jam group of as many as eight musicians.
Season Ends The Way it Started For Senior Melons
The bad news is, the weather cut the Gothenburg Melons’ season a little short. The good news, they went out with a win. The Senior Melons traveled to Kearney on Tuesday, July 2 to take on the Kearney Jersey’s Seniors. Coincidentally, that is the team Gothenburg started the season against back on May 22. The season began with an 11-0 victory, and ended with a 16-8 win.

Lexington, Neb. - A man is facing numerous charges including Attempted Murder after attacking a man with a knife Tuesday afternoon according to officials. According to the Lexington Police Department (LDP), on Tuesday, July 16th around 4:00pm, officers responded to a call that an man was assaulted. Upon arrival, officers determined the 39-year-old was assaulted.
