Kearney pool damaged in midst of heat wave, police search for vandal
Kearney, Neb. (KSNB) - A public pool is temporarily closed in order to fix damages and Kearney police are searching for who is responsible. The Harmon Pool fell victim to a vandalization Friday night, leaving members of the community out to dry in the summer heat. The pool’s pipes and other mechanical equipment were damaged in the incident, leading the pool to be drained in attempt to open it back up for the remainder of the season, according to Kearney Recreations Services Director Scott Hayden.
Bulldog takes permanent place in front of North Platte High
A sculpture of the North Platte High School Bulldog mascot was officially revealed Monday morning, a lasting gift to the school from the class of 2024. The students raised $5,000 to create and install the sculpture, which was created in Chicago, Ill. It stands in front of the main entrance of the high school.
