Midcoast Knox, Waldo county high school students receive Worthington Scholarships in 2024
Several members of the graduating classes of 2024 in the Belfast and Camden areas, as well as Vinalhaven, are recent recipients of Worthington scholarships. The Worthington Scholarship Foundation aims to increase the accessibility of a college education by reducing financial barriers and providing support to help students persist in and graduate college. The Worthington Scholarship is awarded to students who graduated from a Maine public high school and are attending a partnering college in Fall 2024. This year, the Foundation awarded nearly 800 scholarships with values ranging from $6,000 to $20,000.

The annual Lobster & More event was a wonderful evening! The Lincoln Home is thankful for the families and friends in the community who came out to support the residents. The Sandy River Ramblers Bluegrass Band were a great addition to the evening. Megunticook Golf Club in Rockport celebrates 125th anniversary with three days of events
In 1898, a six-hole golf course was laid out on borrowed land on Beauchamp Point in Rockport. It quickly became a permanent golf course when Philadelphian Charles Henry donated nearby woodland and pastureland. The club was organized specifically for golf in 1899 and opened in 1902, with a layout by groundskeeper Thomas Grant.
