WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the “no-wake” restriction on the Rock River after nearly two months.

“Just a quick reminder to watch out for any debris in the water.  Stay alert and keep your eyes peeled to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone,” the Sheriff’s Office said in an announcement.

The no-wake order for boaters was instituted on June 6th due to rising water levels, requiring boaters to travel no faster than 5 miles per hour.

The Sheriff’s Office temporarily lifted the restriction for the July 4th holiday.

The Ski Broncs ski show team in Loves Park was forced to cancel most of its summer performances this year, despite recent $800,000 rennovations to Shorewood Park.
