LOWELL, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A new coworking office space is now open in Lowell, and it’s ready to help businesses impacted by the Memorial Day weekend tornadoes.

Railside was created as an inclusive working space while giving people better technology access. Jason Robinson, cofounder of Railside, wants to help provide small businesses with access to high technology and a space for businesses to connect.

Robinson says the space became available right before the Memorial Day weekend tornadoes. He says it was just in time to help those small businesses that were severely damaged.

“It’s rough. It’s hard on the area. A lot of people impacted very significantly. But the silver lining of that was us to be able to serve the homeowners that were displaced, that couldn’t do remote work from the house or the small businesses that were impacted, need a little office space to work,” said Robinson.

Railside provides conference rooms and open spaces for people to use. It also includes cloud-based systems that connect printers, smartphone apps to open doors or book rooms and security systems when a door is opened. The space also provides shredding services, snacks and lockers.

Robinson hopes to expand his business to other areas across Northwest Arkansas like Siloam Springs and Centerton. To be able to use the space, you have to become a member. The company is offering a 50% discount for small businesses impacted by the tornadoes.
