Lowell man wins “Lucky for Life” lottery prize on birthday

DORCHESTER, Mass. (WWLP) – A Lowell man is a winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize from the Massachusetts Lottery’s “Lucky for Life” game.

Jon Valois of Lowell claimed his prize on June 3rd after the first five numbers on his Quic Pic ticket matched those of the March 29th drawing. Valois chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $390,000, before taxes.

Valois said that he scanned the ticket on his birthday and found out that he had won. His plans for his winnings it to put it towards friends and family. The winning ticket was purchased at Northside Convenience in Bedford.

“Lucky for Life” winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their winnings. Massachusetts State Lottery prizes that expire then become part of the net profit that the Lottery
returns to the Commonwealth for distribution to all 351 cities and towns. The drawings are conducted seven nights a week.
