Tuesday’s Weather: Hot and humid with plenty of sunshine
EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Here is a look at the weather where you live: Happy Tuesday, East Texas! Expect another round of sunshine today along with some occasionally breeze south winds which will help temperatures climb into the middle 90s later this afternoon. Since we have plenty of humidity in the air from recent rains, heat index values(feels like temps) will reach or even exceed 105°, so a Heat Advisory is once again in effect for today. Be sure to take care of yourselves if you have to do any prolonged work outdoors during the heat of the day and always check the back seat of your vehicle for children and pets. Our high-pressure system will continue sit over East Texas and the southern U.S. for the majority of the week, meaning each and every day this week will pretty much see the same forecast: middle to upper 70s in the morning, hot 90s in the afternoon, and lots of sunshine each day. Longer range models are hinting that our “heat dome” will shift further to the west by the weekend which could allow for a weak cold front to stall somewhere close/south of the Red River by Saturday or Sunday. Now that “cold” front wouldn’t bring much of a change to our temps, it would at least give us a slight chance at a little bit of rain by the weekend and early next week. Fingers crossed!

Garrett Stubbs Pitched in This One: Yankees 14, Phillies 4
Some pain comes with a warning. Some pain comes like a bolt from the blue. Nobody ought to have been surprised that Aaron Judge and Juan Soto gave the Phillies fits tonight; that’s what they do to everyone. And in the middle of a skid of lost series, another loss isn’t so surprising either. But Zack Wheeler giving up a trio of dingers in the first two innings carries the sting of surprise. So did much of the game, really. Not much went right for the Fightins as the visitors unloaded on a reeling Philadelphia nine.

Girardi reflects on 1998 Yankees, a club with many parallels to current Phillies squad
Yikes. That was quite a thorough beatdown the Yankees put on your Fightin’ Phillies Monday night down at the old ballyard. All-Star starter Zack Wheeler gave up seven runs. That’s the most he’s allowed in a game since, well, last month. The lineup, chockablock with All-Stars and superstars, was muzzled again. The 14-4 shellacking witnessed by another sellout crowd at Citizens Bank Park was their eighth loss in 12 games.
