LOWNDES CO – The Lowndes Associated Ministries to People Inc. with 5 other recipients were selected to each receive $145,000 in USDA funding. Throughout the past year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the University of Georgia (UGA) have engaged with hundreds of community members at listening sessions across the state of Georgia to determine how funding from a $1.5 million USDA grant can be used to advance agricultural initiatives and support community garden production in Georgia.

The Valdosta Lowndes County YMCA Teen Leaders Club took eight local teenagers to the 2024 Blue Ridge Leaders School in Black Mountain, NC June 15-22. The purpose of Blue Ridge Leaders’ School is teen leadership development through YMCA health and physical education. Blue Ridge Leaders’ School is not a camp. Rather it is a physical education training school profoundly structured with high standards of behavior, physical participation and individual performance.
Holsendolph Arrested by VPD for Aggravated Assault
VALDOSTA, LOWNDES COUNTY, Georgia – Valdosta Police Department (VPD) Chief Leslie Manahan has released information about a recent aggravated assault. Manahan indicates that VPD officers responded to the 400 block of Hightower Street in response to a citizen E911 call about 11:30 p.m. The citizen reported that another Valdostan had been stabbed.
