Lowndes County natives were among more than 4,000 students named to the Mississippi State spring 2024 president’s list.

Trevor Haney of Hope Hull joined Helen Oglesby and Jake Hooper of Lowndesboro as part of the 4,137 students who attained the honor. All three are graduates of Lowndes Academy and Oglesby earned her Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Mississippi State in May.

Students achieving a 3.80 grade point average (GPA) based on a 4.0 scale while completing at least 12 semester hours are eligible for the accolade, but must not have incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.

Mississippi State University is a national STEM-focused college with a student body of more than 23,000 students.

Editor’s note: Some names of students may not appear in this notice as a result of student requests for privacy from publication through the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act.
