ST. CLOUD FATHER CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER AFTER INFANT SON SUFFOCATED
(St. Cloud, MN) — A St. Cloud man is accused of suffocating his infant son after going to bed drunk. Joshua Cox has been charged with two counts of manslaughter. Police say officers responded to a medical emergency involving a baby in September 2021. The infant’s mother said her child was not breathing. Despite life-saving procedures by first responders, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives say Cox had been taking care of the infant before going to bed with the baby and an older sibling. The child’s cause of death was ruled to be positional asphyxia due to unsafe sleeping conditions.
