LOWVILLE, N.Y. (WWTI) – The deadline for submissions for Lowville’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative has been pushed back until August 30 due to the recent flooding in Lewis County.

The Village of Lowville DRI Local Planning Committee (LPC) has announced an extension of the project submission deadline to 5 p.m. August 30 in response to the severe weather that affected the downtown area.

According to a press release, “flooding has caused significant disruption to the community, including the downtown area. In light of these challenges, the LPC recognizes the need to provide additional time for residents and businesses to focus on recovery efforts while still allowing them the opportunity to participate in shaping the future of downtown Lowville.”

The committee continues to seek proposals to be included in the final Strategic Investment Plan, for potential funding from the $10 million allocation. DRI project submissions are an essential part of Lowville’s revitalization efforts. All projects must be submitted using the Lowville DRI Project Form available at www.LowvilleDRI.org.

The DRI consultant team will offer additional virtual drop-in sessions and individual meetings for project sponsors to help assist the process. Details for these support opportunities will be updated on the Village’s DRI website.

The LPC is still looking forpublic engagement throughout this process. Members of the public are encouraged to stay informed about upcoming meetings, public workshops and engagement activities by visiting www.LowvilleDRI.org.
