LOWVILLE, N.Y. (WWTI) – Retail and post office box services are available once again at the Lowville Post Office.

Postal customers in Lowville were informed via a letter of the re-opening of the post office. The recent flooding in Lewis County had closed the lobby to postal customers that wanted to mail out letters and package and pick up mail from post office boxes.

The post office at 7651 North State Street in the village was closed on July 15 until further notice due to flooding damage from the remnants of Hurricane Beryl.

The hours of operation in Lowville are 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday’s hours are 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Customers that had PO Boxes in Lowville had to go to the Watertown location at 232 Commerce Park Drive to pick up mail or oversized items.

All delivery operations were expected to return to normal on Tuesday.

A copy of the letter will be posted at the Lowville and Watertown post offices.
