Journey Tribute Band Coming To Daphne Civic Center
Departure – The Journey Tribute Band is coming to the Daphne Civic Center on July 27, Gulf Coast Media reports. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the opening act, Disco Kiss, will take the stage at 6 p.m. The main act starts at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $22. VIP tickets are $75 and include seats closest to the stage, wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

City Of Mobile Opens New Playground At Tricentennial Park
Officials recently held an opening ceremony for the new playground at Frederick D. Richardson Jr. Tricentennial Park, and the park has already been recognized as a Project of Excellence in PlayCore’s National Demonstration Site Network due to a unique design, WKRG reports. The park is designed in a figure eight pattern, and a sign showing the park’s recognition explains that it meets the “best practices in youth fitness through sliding, swinging, spinning, climbing, brachiating and balancing.”
Business Expo Set For Mobile
The Mobile Chamber is holding its next Business Expo on August 15 at 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Mobile Convention Center Exhibit Hall. Called “Mobile’s largest business-to-business trade show” by the chamber, it is to feature more than 200 exhibitors showcasing new products and services, along with business resources, food and beverage samples from local vendors, and more. The Alabama Small Business Development Center Network is hosting a free Digital Marketing Bootcamp at Innovation Portal in Mobile on August 14 at 8:30-11:30 a.m. The bootcamp will feature guest speaker Jacqui Jones, CEO of One Degree Marketing. It will cover the fundamentals needed to tell a story and connect with online audiences, from understanding customers and mapping their buyers’ journey to mastering social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Attendees will also learn how to design a website optimized for search engines and local audiences, along with other key strategies to build a powerful online presence.
United Cerebral Palsy’s Food & Folly Announced
United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile has announced its 15th annual Food & Folly for Fort Whiting in Mobile on September 19 at 6:30-9:30 p.m. The organization’s signature annual event, Food & Folly evokes the spirit of Mobile’s Carnival season. Attendees will enjoy cuisine samples from local restaurants; live music by the Excelsior Band; wine, craft beer and spirits tastings; a silent auction; a wine pull; and more. The nonprofit expects 300 guests, including area business professionals and influential community members. Tickets are $100 per couple and $65 per person. A 15% discount is available until July 31 with the promo code “EARLYBIRD.” All proceeds benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile.
