WOLFFORTH — New Home baseball coach Brady Webb has gotten used to big performances by Logan Addison on the mound.

The Texas Tech signee added to those Friday with his latest no-hitter.

Addison stymied the Sundown lineup with 19 strikeouts in a 4-0 win in Game 2 of their Region I-2A quarterfinal series at the Frenship Athletic Complex. The result swept the series and pushed New Home to its third consecutive region semifinal.

The Leopards will face the winner between Stamford and Bangs.

    Logan Addison deals another no-hitter

Addison is no stranger to the no-hitter. Friday's series-clincher was the senior's fourth of the season.

Webb said Addison has improved his game working with former MLB pitcher Stephen Watkins.

Addison issued three walks and hit one batter in a complete game.

"He had really good command," Webb said. "He's been really good this year. He worked really hard to get to that point."

    Sundown baseball ends improbable run

The Roughnecks finished fourth in District 4-2A, which New Home won. It was an improbable run to the third round for Sundown in the first season under coach Matthew Schovajsa.

Schovajsa welcomed his first child the week of the Roughnecks' opening playoff game. Sundown lost Game 1 to district-champion New Deal, but the Roughnecks founds their rhythm and rode it to the region quarterfinals.

"It's probably better than I expected, to be honest," Schovajsa said of the team's run. "You never know exactly what you're getting when you come in the first year. … The last three weeks have been so special."

Bottom of order delivers for New Home

The Leopards separated with a three-run third inning. Avin Madrid's two-run home run highlighted the frame, and New Home never trailed.

Sundown's Jaxon Rodriguez slowed the Leopards offense with seven strikeouts over four innings of relief. He allowed two hits with three walks and a hit batter.

Graham Stanford added an RBI single in the sixth to give the bottom third of the New Home's order three RBIs.

"At any point, our 7-8-9 (batters) could probably be 1-2-3," Webb said. "I feel like we've got good hitters all the way through the lineup. I've got a bunch of good hitters that aren't in the lineup. But I'm very proud of those kids that are at the bottom of the lineup that are producing some."
