The Miniaturists of Lubbock will host their 45th Annual Exhibit & Sale Oct. 5 and 6 at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 4600 48th St.

Doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with $3 admission for adults and $1 for children. All proceeds will benefit Lubbock Habitat for Humanity.

The theme this year is "Hobby Room," according to group member Melonie Miles.

"Our members enjoy building doll houses and small room boxes," she said, adding. "Members work in several different scales. The most common scale is 1 inch in miniature, which equals 1 foot in real life. We work in 1/2 inch, 1/4 inch, and 1/44 inch scales."

Miles said the group has been in existence for 45 years.

"Our group meets once a month for a short business meeting and then to work on a small project," she said. "Some of the projects we have worked on at our meetings include plants, globes, message boards, books and water pitchers."

Visitors will be able to view a wide variety of miniatures in different styles and scales, as well as shop vendors. There will also be door prize drawings.

Miniaturists of Lubbock is a group of miniature enthusiasts who have been getting together for decades to build miniatures.
