Lubbock Christian University to hold CPA cram courses in July

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Accounting Department at Lubbock Christian University will offer cram courses for individual sections of the CPA exam, according to a press release.

The next course offered on July 19-20 will focus on Taxation and Regulation. The course will be led by Dr. Laci Richardson, CPA and  Bill and Mildred Crozier Assistant Professor of Accounting at LCU.

“The cram course is designed for exam candidates who have been actively studying for a particular section of the CPA exam and intend to take the second in the near future,” said Dr. Richardson. She added that participants will learn study tips, exam day strategies and discuss topics regularly seen on the exam.

According to the release, the two-day cram course will be held on the LCU campus in the Christa Dobbs Center for Business on Friday, July 19 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, July 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For those who cannot attend in person, a livestream course will be  available.

The cost of the course is $300 for LCU alumni and $500 for all others.A boxed lunch will be included on Saturday.

The release said the final cram course offered in 2024 will be Auditing and Attestation on October 19. A new round of cram courses will be offered in 2025 beginning in February with Financial Accounting and Reporting.
