LUBBOCK, Texas — If you’re looking for a fun way to spend the Fourth of July, EverythingLubbock.com has compiled a list of events and activities happening on the South Plains.
Where to get fireworks in the Lubbock area? Lubbock’s 4th on Broadway celebration returns for its 34th year with a new parade route, and Smash Mouth headlining the evening concert. The annual Fourth of July celebration is set to begin at 9:45 a.m. with the Bolton Oil Parade.
Slaton’s parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. starting at the high school. The parade will proceed down Garza Street around the Square and up Lubbock Street to the end at the Methodist Church. After the parade, the Mr. and Miss Firecracker Pageant begins at 12:00 p.m.
Shallowater will have a kickball tournament beginning at 9:00 a.m. The festival will continue at the community center at 2:00 p.m. with bounce houses, a dunk tank, food and more.
Wolfforth holds a celebration at Patterson Park on July 5 with music, fireworks, food and more. The celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. with fireworks at dark.
The City of Crosbyton will begin festivities with a parade at 10:00 a.m. and a car show downtown immediately after. The celebration will include live music and games. The Lorenzo Senior Citizens Center will host a pancake breakfast and raffle from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Lorenzo will also host its first 4th of July classic car show from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The celebration will have food trucks, games and a DJ.
Brownfield’s celebration will be at Coleman Park with an opening ceremony at 5:45 p.m., followed by a golf cart parade. The festivities will include live music and a firework show that starts at 10:00 p.m.
Plainview’s Red, White & Moo Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at 11th and Ash. After the parade, the Milk Festival begins at 10:30 a.m. and will have a petting zoo, bounce houses, free ice cream and more.
A parade will take place in Muleshoe at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street, with a celebration at the courthouse after. Festivities will include a watermelon eating contest, cornhole tournament, games, a pageant and more. The Bailey County Senior Center will sell BBQ plates from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A firework show will be at City Park once it is dark out.
Post will have a downtown parade beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a celebration at the park after. The festival will include vendors, a pie eating contest, hot dog eating contest and a firework show beginning at 10:00 p.m.
A parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Marina Road in Spur, with live music and a firework show at dark. The celebrations continue into Friday and Saturday with open grill and live music.
Buffalo Springs Lake will have a fireworks celebration on July 6, with wristbands on sale from June 24 until July 5. Lubbock County residents can purchase wristbands in the office.
