    City of Lubbock offices closed for 4th of July

    LUBBOCK, Texas — In observance of Independence day on Thursday, July 4 the City of Lubbock offices announced it will be closed. Normal operations will resume Friday, July 5.

    See the following offices closed below.

    Residential Trash Collection

    Solid waste collection for Thursday, July 4 will be shifted to Wednesday, July 3.

    Recycling/landfill Operations

    • Both landfills will be closed Thursday, July 4 and will resume normal operations on Friday, July 5.
    • Attended drop-off station will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and will resume normal operations on Friday, July 5.

    Libraries

    All Lubbock Public Library locations will be closed Thursday, July 4.

    Community Centers/Burgess Rushing Tennis Center/Safety City

    All community and senior centers and Safety City will be closed Thursday, July 4 and will resume normal hours of operations on Friday, July 5.

    ** Burgess Rushing Tennis Center will be open July 4 from 8 a.m.  to 2 p.m.

    Cultural Facilities

    The Buddy Holly Center, Silent Wings Museum and the Garden & Art Center will be closed Thursday, July 4
