    Trial rescheduled for former Lubbock daycare worker accused of making child pornography

    LUBBOCK, Texas — The federal jury trial for a former Lubbock daycare employee accused of recording sexual content of minors, Nautica Blu Hamilton, 20, was rescheduled to take place on October 7, according to court documents obtained on Tuesday.

    The trial was previously scheduled for August. Federal court documents submitted by Hamilton’s attorney stated that “additional time is needed for the defense to review the discovery and conduct an independent investigation.”

    Hamilton was indicted in the Lubbock federal court on June 12 for Production and Attempted Production of Child Pornography. Federal court documents said it happened from May 1, 2023, to about July 27, 2023.

    Court documents stated Hamilton was accused of persuading or enticing minors to “engage in sexually explicit conduct.” According to court records, Hamilton knew the content would be distributed or sent to someone else. Family members said there were two victims.

    The YWCA Lubbock released a statement to families about safety changes after Hamilton’s arrest.

    Hamilton remained in federal custody as of Tuesday.
