Lubbock Fire Rescue collaborates with Tesla for electric vehicle safety training

LUBBOCK, Texas — On Wednesday, Lubbock Fire Rescue announced its collaboration with a local Tesla dealership and service center to provide hands-on training for LFR’s impression staff.

The training focused on construction, safeguards and potential hazards that come with electric vehicles, said LFR. LFR staff learned directly from Tesla experts to ensure they are well-prepared to address the challenges they may face due to electric vehicles.

LFR recognizes the importance of learning new technology as more electric vehicles are on the roadways. LFR said it has increased its response model for incidents involving electric vehicles.

The department is committed to enhancing readiness and response to better protect the citizens of Lubbock and first responders.
