    Lubbock Police names pedestrian killed in crash near Erskine Street and Englewood Avenue

    LUBBOCK, Texas — On Friday, the Lubbock Police Department identified the pedestrian killed at Erskine Street and Englewood Avenue as Edgar Hatchel, 73.

    According to LPD, officers were called for a report of a pedestrian collision at 9:54 p.m. on Thursday.

    LPD said a passenger car driven by James Woodruff, 30, was traveling east in the 5700 block of Erskine Street. Hatchel attempted to cross from the south side of Erskine Street to the north near Englewood Avenue when he was struck by Woodruff, LPD added.

    Lubbock Police said Hatchel was pronounced deceased on scene and no other injuries were reported.
