LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock artist and recent Texas Tech graduate, Taylor “Elÿse” Arnold, will open her art gallery on Saturday, July 27 at 1519 Texas Avenue. The gallery, [Art]iqulating, will have a grand opening event on Saturday starting at 3:00 p.m.
The all-day event will have live music, live painting and pieces of art available for sale. Mad Hatter’s House of Games, located next door to the gallery, will host a tournament with food trucks and other activities at the same time as the grand opening event.
“I’m hoping my space benefits Lubbock in a creative way,” Arnold said.
Arnold plans to host private art lessons, workshops and group lessons with supplies included for those with varying skill sets.
The gallery is set to be something to involve the community as Arnold will open [Art]iqulating for those who want to watch her paint and see where art happens. The space will also be open for the community to come by and purchase her work and inquire about commissions. Arnold specializes in acrylic painting, graphic design, photography and exterior/interior wall painting.

Arnold said the location of her gallery “could not get any better.” The gallery is just streets away from the First Friday Art Trail. Arnold hopes [Art]iqulating becomes more involved in the art trail in the months following its opening.
“Getting my own studio gallery space is huge for me,” Arnold said.
[Art]iqulating gives Arnold a headquarters for her art and a dedicated space to work on art.
