Lubbock man accused of inappropriately touching 13-year-old girl

LUBBOCK, Texas — Mark Gomez, 51, was arrested in Lubbock and accused of two counts of Indecency with a Child with Sexual Contact, according to court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Wednesday.

Gomez was arrested by the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday in the 6500 block of 89th Street. According to court documents, the victim, a 13-year-old girl, made an outcry and told authorities she was inappropriately touched by Gomez on Mother’s Day.

The victim was visiting a family member and was briefly left alone with Gomez. Court records said the victim told authorities Gomez was touching her, and it made her uncomfortable, so she tried to walk away. Gomez followed the victim, court records stated, and continued touching her inappropriately and kissed her in another room. According to court documents, the victim ran outside and texted a sibling to come pick her up.

As of Wednesday, Gomez remained at the Lubbock County Detention Center on Bonds totaling $150,000.
