After being injured and stranded on a roof in central Lubbock, a person was rescued by a fire crew and taken to University Medical Center with unknown injuries.

According to Lubbock Fire Rescue, Engine 6 was dispatched about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday to help EMS for a reported fallen victim in the 3200 block of 47th Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the person had fallen 10 to 15 feet off a ladder onto a lower roof level. Due to the nature of the accident, Truck 17 was called to assist with an aerial operation.

The crew used the truck's aerial ladder and basket to rescue the injured person. EMS was able to transport them to UMC, but the injured person's status was unknown.

No other details about the event had been released by late morning.
