Court documents previously showed a witness told authorities that Carson was supposed to meet with Wilson and Bobby Gasca to sell them drugs. A witness later revealed Wilson and Gasca ended up robbing Carson and Tubbs. Gasca and Wilson told the witness they ended up stealing money and drugs after the shooting.

Wilson was arrested at an apartment complex in San Angelo in 2020. Gasca was later arrested in San Angelo in 2022. Both men remained in custody as of Tuesday.
