'Never stop looking': Missing Columbia man found dead, family and police confirm
Police have confirmed that a Columbia man who went missing in October 2022 has been found dead. Jason Washington's body was found on June 7, according to his wife, Tamitra Williams. She announced it on the Bring Jason Washington Home Facebook page, which she created to source tips to find him.
Galt Board of Aldermen set new garbage rates, approves FY 2024-2025 budget
The Galt Board of Aldermen held a meeting on July 15th, where several important decisions were made concerning city services and budgeting. The board accepted a contract renewal with GFL of Chillicothe, which will now charge the city a new rate of $13.79 per household for trash collection. In line with this, the board also approved a new garbage rate ordinance. The city will now charge a uniform rate of $14.50 for two trash cans per household. Any additional cans will incur a fee of $7.25 per can, with a maximum of three cans allowed per household.

The Kirksville Police Department has positively identified the male victim who drowned at the Woodwinds apartment complex as 27-year-old Desir Davidson of Kirksville, formerly of Haiti. CID proposed for old Schnucks property along Mexico Loop Road
At its July 11 meeting, the O’Fallon City Council conducted a public hearing and gave first reading to a bill that would establish the 1421 Mexico Road Community Improvement District (CID) for the entire property, all of the businesses eventually housed within the location and the parking lot.
