LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area Center for the Arts Summer Concert Series set for July 31 will feature a performance by Dawn Campbell and the Bohemians.
Dawn Campbell and the Bohemians are a bluesy funk, neo-soul, rock and jazz band that will be playing some timeless grooves.
The LACA Summer Concert series features a mix of jazz, blues, rock, pop and R&B performers every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. through Sept. 4 in downtown Ludington’s Waterfront Park.
According to executive director Andrew Skinner, the free community concerts bring world-class music to community members and the many visitors to the area in a family-friendly environment.
“Part of the art center’s vision is to foster a community where arts and culture bring us together, feed the creative spirit and fuel community growth — this series does just that,” Skinner said. “What could be better than gathering with new and old friends on the lush grass of Waterfront Park and listening to world-renowned musicians perform, while taking in a breathtaking sunset and the evening arrival of the S.S. Badger.”
Sponsors of the 2024 LACA Summer Concert Series include: the Community Foundation for Mason County; Heyse & Associates; V Construction; the Ludington Daily News; Bud Matthews Services; and the Ludrock Fund of the Community Foundation for Mason County.
LACA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that relies on monetary donations to help fund its events and programs. Donations for the concert series are collected on-site during each concert. Donations can also be made online .
Located at 107 S. Harrison St. in downtown Ludington the LACA offers monthly exhibits on the first Friday of the month opening receptions and an assortment of performances and workshops.
Art center hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday; and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
