On August 8, 2024, at approximately 5:45 a.m., a traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Larch Avenue and Slover Avenue, in Bloomington, involving two vehicles. Victim 1 (driver) & Victim 2 (passenger), who were not involved in the traffic collision, stopped to check on the involved parties. One of the involved parties, who was later identified as Dalton Alvarado, 19, of Pauma Valley, exited his vehicle armed with a rifle and a handgun. Alvarado pistol whipped Victim 2 in the head, took Victim 1’s vehicle by force and fled the location.
