    Lufkin man sentenced to federal prison for selling meth to undercover agents

    ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) – A 38-year-old Lufkin man was sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison on Thursday after he was found to be selling methamphetamine and in possession of marijuana, firearms and a stolen vehicle.

    According to a release, Johnathan Edward Brandt pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute meth and firearm violations.

    Brandt reportedly sold meth to undercover agents in 2023 as well as a firearm. A release said he was later arrested when officials responded to people wearing ski masks and carrying flashlights at a Lufkin business.

    “Further investigation revealed Brandt drove to the location in a stolen vehicle which also happened to contain another 13 firearms, a large amount of ecstasy pills, methamphetamine, alprazolam, a large amount of cash, and ammunition and magazines,” a release said.

    During a search of Brandt’s home, methamphetamine, digital scales, ecstasy, marijuana, firearms, and a stolen vehicle were reportedly confiscated. Brandt allegedly admitted to trading narcotics for the firearms.

    Brandt will now serve 188 months in federal prison.
