(The Center Square) — A 34-year-old Atlanta man has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of "transmitting interstate threats" after he threatened to kill a congresswoman from northwest Georgia, prosecutors said Tuesday. Federal prosecutors said Sean Patrick Cirillo called the Washington office of U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Georgia, three times on Nov. 8, 2023. More Georgians have gotten sick from mushroom gummies and chocolates that are under a nationwide recall. Channel 2 Action News reported earlier this month that there were six cases connected to the Diamond Shruumz. James W. Thompson, 21, from St. Simons Island, has set a new state record for almaco jack (Seriola rivoliana). On Sunday, July 28, Thompson caught a remarkable 27-pound, 8-ounce almaco jack offshore near Navy Tower R4. This catch surpasses the previous record of 23 pounds, 15.04 ounces, established by Jason H. Rich of McRae-Helena in May.
