LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTW) — Robeson Community College saw the largest graduating class in its history last year, while pulling down more than $8 million in grants, school officials said on Monday.

“Because of the diligence of our administration, faculty and staff, students at Robeson Community College are making headlines and changing the world. Our students are achieving their dreams while getting recognized locally, regionally and on a national level,” Board of Trustees chairwoman Shirley Stockton said in a statement.

The college, which serves roughly 10,000 students, bestowed 258 associate’s degrees, 48 diplomas and 79 high school diplomas for a total of 385 credentials conferred.

Officials also scored millions from federal and state funding sources to support academic programs and community initiatives.
