LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTW) — A man was wounded Tuesday night in a shootout between several people in the parking lot of a Dollar General store, police said.

Officers found the victim in the parking with a gunshot wound after being called at about 8 p.m. to the Dollar General at 925 Caton Road, Lumberton police said. The man was treated at a hospital and released.

Investigators determined that the shooting took place in the parking lot when an altercation “escalated into the individuals shooting at each other,” police said. No additional details were immediately available.
