CALVERT COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Deputies in Calvert County said a man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in Lusby on July 14.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said deputies went to Nursery Road and Maryland Route 4 for a crash just after 7 p.m.

After investigating, deputies determined that a man was driving a Dodge 3500 north on Maryland Route 4 when the motorcyclist, 36-year-old Paul O’Neal, of Lusby, started riding near the driver’s side of the truck. The CCSO said O’Neal was allegedly speeding and hit the back of the truck.

The impact of the crash caused O’Neal to eject from the motorcycle. Deputies said first responders tried to save O’Neal, but he died at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge was not injured.

The CCSO said O’Neal’s speed is being investigated as a factor in the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Payne at 410-535-2800.
