This weekend, I'm keeping things pretty short and sweet because a lot of us – including myself – are taking vacations and trying to soak up as much summer as possible before everything shifts to back-to-school mode. You'll get to know the new leader of Sioux Empire United Way. And, I've got the details on a new effort to help people better connect with nonprofits and resources across the community.
Rain chances return today, this weekend
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -- We’re going to see a chance for a few scattered showers and thunderstorms this morning across parts of central South Dakota. This chance of rain will move east as we head through the day. The best chance for rain in the Sioux Falls area will be later this afternoon into this evening. There is a slight risk of severe weather, a 2 out of 5, in south central South Dakota today. Main threat would be for strong wind gusts. Highs today will be in the low to mid 80s.
