Trout Run, Pa. — The libraries of the Lycoming County Library System are encouraging families to join their Family Nature Adventure, which will feature a short hike and outdoor activities.

The event is free to attend and will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 4-6 p.m. at Rider Park. Parking will be available at First Baptist Church of Warrensville, 5685 Warrensville Road, Montoursville. Rich Port Adventure Company will transport participants from the church to the park entrance.

No registration is required to join the main activities. The campfire hangout scheduled for after the main activities does require registration and is currently full, but there is a waiting list available in case other participants opt out.

The daytime event will feature an educational two-mile hike presented by Sara Street from First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, activities presented by multiple libraries in our county, information about composting presented by Full Circle Bioconversion, and other outdoor features.

Questions about this event may be addressed to Nicole Rader, programming and youth services director at the James V. Brown Library, at 570-326-0536 ext. 116.
