Texas Governor Greg Abbott has teamed up with various entities to kick-off a Music Friendly Texas Community workshop set for August 27 in Mexia. The initiative, which promotes the economic benefits of the music industry, is a partnership between the Texas Music Office (TMO), the City of Mexia, the Mexia Economic Development Corporation, and Mexia Downtown. Governor Abbott highlighted the economic impact that music has in the Lone Star State, saying, "Music is key to the Texas brand and to our local economies," as reported by Office of the Texas Governor website.
