Plattsburgh man jailed after Stonehelm fight
BEEKMANTOWN | A Plattsburgh man is facing a number of charges after a confrontation at the Stonehelm Motel grew violent and ended with damage to a police cruiser. New York State Police were called to the Spellman Road motel at about 8:30 p.m. July 30 after Lee A. Goodrow, 42, allegedly got into a verbal argument that turned physical. Goodrow reportedly refused to leave the property following the attack. When eventually placed under arrest, Goodrow reportedly unbuckled his seat belt and refused to comply with responding troopers’ commands. While being combative and aggressive toward officers, police said, Goodrow then damaged items inside the parol vehicle.

St. Johnsbury received the highest amount of rainfall, with a new record of 8.04 inches measured by the National Weather Service on Tuesday. This surpassed the previous record of 4.99 inches set in 1913 for a single-day of rainfall.
