A Pennsylvania man, identified as Edward Garry, has been charged with the rape of a minor after allegedly meeting the victim through Snapchat and then driving to a hotel in Brookline to carry out the assault, according to authorities. Saxonburg’s new K-9 sworn in
For the first time in more than a decade, a K-9 is patrolling the streets of Saxonburg. Bolt, a German shepard, previously worked with officer Mark Heider in Middlesex. Heider left Middlesex and started working part-time in Saxonburg, and on Friday, July 26, Bolt was sworn in as the newest member of the force.
Activities Planned At Moraine State Park
It’s a great weekend to enjoy some outdoor activities at Moraine State Park. First, a Star Party is planned for Saturday night from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Beach Area on the North Shore of Moraine. Volunteers from the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will bring their privately owned telescopes to help participants learn how to spot a few planets and constellations. Those planning to attend should bring a lawn chair or blanket as well as bug spray. No smoking, flashlights, light-up toys, or cell phones at this free event.
