Democrats sue Kemp over leadership committee law
(The Center Square) — Georgia Democrats have filed a federal lawsuit against Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, saying a measure he signed three years ago that allows him to effectively "sidestep" campaign finance restrictions. Kemp signed Senate Bill 221 into law in May 2021. Construction underway on Georgia's largest Buc-ee's, opening slated for summer 2025
The wait won't be much longer on Georgia getting a new Buc-ee's. Construction has started on the Brunswick location on Georgia 99 at the I-95 exit. It's being built by J. Raymond Construction out of Florida. Media coordinator Crissy Gonzales said via email that the Buc-ee's has a tentative opening date of June 2, 2025. However, that date is subject to change.
