Inaugural Silent Disco lights up downtown Topeka
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - While people were dancing the night away at Evergy Plaza, no music could be heard, but that does not mean people weren’t rocking out to some tunes. Evergy Plaza hosted the first-ever Silent Disco, in which participants put on special Bluetooth headphones that connected to various DJs. From there, each individual could change to dial on the headphones as they desire. The options included country, top 40, hip-hop, and E.D.M.

Track work continues at derailment site
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Work continues to repair the K and O railroad tracks near Avenue D and Plum in Hutchinson following a Saturday morning derailment. According to Tracie VanBecelaere with Watco, there were nine grain cars that derailed on Saturday. They were all upright. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

Buer celebrates 25 years at First Bank Kansas
First Bank Kansas proudly celebrates Kent Buer, President and CEO, for 25 years with the organization. Kent was raised on a farm near Norway in Republic County, KS. With two older brothers, he realized he would need to find a different career path other than farming. A part-time summer job at a local bank piqued his interest in finance. Kent earned a Finance Degree from Kansas State University that prepared him to accept an offer as a Financial Examiner with the State of Kansas Banking Department based in the Salina field office.
