    Festivals Happening this Weekend: July 13 through July 16

    This weekend, enjoy a music festival benefitting the Hurricane Ida recovery effort in Grand Isle and Cajun music and food in Lake Charles.

    Even during the hottest months of the year, festivals are a great way to have a good time.

    Grand Isle Music Fest - July 13, 14, 15

    4500 Highway 1

    Celebrating Grand Isle's recovery from Hurricane Ida, the Island Strong Music Fest happens Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, July 13, 14, and 15, at the Tarpon Rodeo Pavilion. Live music, food, arts & crafts, plus additional vendors will be on hand to celebrate the resilience of the community and help raise awareness for the work still to be done.

    Gates open at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 13, with music by Whiskey Bent from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Jr. Lacrosse from 8:00 PM until closing time at 11:00 PM.

    On Friday, July 14, gates open at noon. An official welcome ceremony happens at 7:30 PM.

    Friday Music Lineup:

    • Kendall Tyler Band, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
    • Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition, 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM
    • Todd O'Neill & Cat Daddy, 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM

    Gates open at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 15. A live auction takes place at 7:30 PM.

    Saturday Music Lineup:

    • Aaron Foret Band, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
    • Dustin Guedry, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
    • Shorts in December, 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM
    • Chase Tyler Band, 8:30 PM - 11:00 PM

    Entrance is by cash-only donation; $10 on Thursday, $15 Friday and Saturday. A weekend bracelet is available for $30. Children 12 and under are admitted free.

    Cajun Music & Food Festival - Lake Charles - July 15

    7001 Gulf Highway

    The Burton Complex in Lake Charles will come alive with authentic Cajun music and food Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM both days. In addition to great music and food, there will be a silent auction, a live auction, a cake walk, a sweet shop, cold beverages, and arts & crafts shopping. At 9:00 AM on Sunday, July 16, there will be a Cajun Mass at the Cajun French Music Association building at 3481 E Prien Lake Road. A coffee and donut social will follow.

    Admission is $10 per person with those 12 and under admitted free.
