Starks Mayhaw Festival - Starks - May 16, 17, 18

There will be mayhaw products, music, live entertainment, a bike parade, food, an auction, Gospel singing, vendors, and lots of fun at the Mayhaw Festival in Starks.
Bayou Boogaloo Music Festival - New Orleans - May 17, 18, 19
With over 60 vendors, there will be something for everyone. Regular ticket prices are $29.50 for a single day and $49.50 for a weekend pass. Festival hours are 4:40 PM AM to 9:30 PM on Friday, 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM on Saturday, and 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM on Sunday.
Louisiana Boulettes & Balloons Festival - Golden Meadow - May 17 & 18

LA Boulettes and Balloons Festival is a family-friendly event held in Oak Ridge Community Park in Golden Meadow. There will be tethered ballon rides, a hot air balloon race, live music, an auto show, Cajun food, cooking competitions, games, local craft vendors, and much more.
Gates are open from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday and from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Saturday.
Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival - May 18 & 19

The 7th annual Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival will be held at the Main Library on Goodwood Boulevard. In addition to good eats, the whole family can enjoy Blues, Soul, R & B, Gospel, Christian music, a vendors village, and a Soul food cooking contest.
Gates are open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM both days. Admission is free.
Louisiana Blackberry Festival- Houma - May 18

Gates are open from 10:00 AM to5:00 PM this Saturday at the Louisiana Blackberry Festival. Enjoy blackberry-infused treats and drinks, live music, delicious food, art & craft vendors, and more.
Admission is free, with a $5 parking fee.
Acadiana Po-Boy Festival - Scott - May 18

Celebrate the humble po-boy at the Acadiana Po-Boy Festival in Scott. Gates are open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There will be po-boy vendors, arts & crafts vendors, a poboy eating contest, and lots of fun.
The Original - Holi Fest 2024 - Alexandria - May 18

Tamp & Grind in Downtown Alexandria is the setting for an explosion of color, music, and camaraderie at Holi Fest 2024. Festival-goers will celebrate this tradition of Northern India by drenching themselves in a kaleidoscope of blues, reds, yellows, and greens, amidst laughter, dancing, and singing to create an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.
Hours are 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
St. Francisville Spring Garden Tour - May 18

Take a tour of the lush gardens of West Feliciana Parish in all their springtime glory at the St. Francisville Spring Garden Tour. Proceeds support 4-H scholarships, school gardens, and community projects.

Wing Wars of Acadiana - Lafayette - May 18

Benefitting the Gifting Grace Project, Wing Wars of Acadiana is a chicken wing cook-off festival. Top wing artists from across the South will compete for the honor of best wings in the state. Music, a wing toss tournament, a kids' zone, and live and silent auctions will take place from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Tunica Biloxi Pow Wow - Marksville - May 18
La. Highway 1
Chief Joseph Alcide Pierite Pow Wow Grounds in Marksville is the setting for the 26th Tunica Biloxi Pow Wow. There will be dance and drum contests and guest performances by The Grayhawk Band (Native Funk) and Larry Yazzie (Native Flute).
General admission is $8 for those aged five and older, and $5 for those younger.
Red Stick Cannabis Street Fair - Baton Rouge - May 18

Cannabis enthusiasts and the cannabis curious can learn more about the healing power of the cannabis plant Saturday in Galvez Plaza in Downtown Baton Rouge. In its second year, the Red Stick Cannabis Street Fair seeks to educate the public about the science, policy, criminal justice, and social equity issues of cannabis.
This is a ticketed event, but the first 200 ticket seekers get in free. Come out for education, advocacy, music, entertainment, and food from10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. No illicit substances are allowed. A picture ID is required at the gate.
