It's Memorial Day Weekend and there are a lot of fun things to do. These are the festivals and events happening around the state.
Cajun Heartland State Fair - Lafayette - May 23 through June 2
444 Cajundome Boulevard
Eleven days of fun happen on the grounds of the Cajundome at the Cajun Heartland State Fair with carnival rides, live music, and food. Admission fee starts at $5 for those 6 and over. Ride wristbands will be available.
Jambalaya Festival - Gonzales - May 24, 25, 26
219 South Irma Boulevard
The 57th Annual Jamabalaya Festival in Gonzales features food, music, jambalaya, cooking contests, vendors, carnival rides, a car show and lots of fun.
Entry and parking are free.
Mudbug Madness - Shreveport - May 24, 25, 26
101 Crockett Street
Mudbug Madness is a weekend of delicious Cajun and Creole cuisine, Louisiana music, arts & crafts vendors, a crawfish eating contest, plenty of crawfish, and a zone for the little ones.

Cajun Country Jam - Denham Springs - May 24, 25, 26
Weekend passes start at $75 for adults and $38 for children over 5. Those younger are admitted free. Weekend car parking passes are $30 and RV passes with two parking passes included are $300.
New Orleans Greek Festival - May 24, 25, 26
1200 Allen Toussaint Boulevard
Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral hosts the 49th Annual Greek Festival with Greek food, Hellenic dancing, and cathedral tours. Lemon will be featured in various foods, desserts, and libations this year.
Tickets are $10 for guests over 12, and free for those younger. Complimentary parking will be provided at the former JFK school site at 5700 Wisner Blvd., with free shuttle service to the festival grounds.
The Authentic Bonnie & Clyde Festival - Gibsland - May 24 & 25
2419 Main Street
Simulated shoot outs, Look-A-Like contests, live entertainment, and free museum tours celebrate the history of the duo at the 27th authentic Bonnie & Clyde Festival.
Freedom Fest - Houma - May 25

The Freedom Fest in Shriever benefits veterans in a tri-parish region. Boiled crawfish, bands, fireworks, bounce houses, face painting, snow balls, and a silent auction all happen between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
All-you-can-eat crawfish is $20 for adults and $10 for kids under 12.
Zydeco Extravaganza - Lafayette - May 26
200 Garfield Street
Parc International in Downtown Lafayette is the setting for the 37th Annual Zydeco Extravaganza. Zydeco music, an amateur accordion contest, food vendors serving Creole cuisine such as boudin and red beans & rice, an arts & crafts market, and a kids' zone highlight this fun outdoor festival.
