Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day. In honor of those who died while serving in the U.S. military, these are the events happening around town.

Memorial Day Concert - Baton Rouge Concert Band

7711 Goodwood Boulevard

The Baton Rouge Concert Band will play patriotic music beginning at 7:00 PM at the Main Library at Goodwood. The concert is free and open to the public.

Memorial Day at Louisiana National Cemetery - Zachary

303 Mt. Pleasant Road

Memorial Day commemoration ceremonies will be held at 10:00 AM at the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary.

Memorial Day Tour - Rosedown Plantation - St. Franciville

12501 LA-Hwy. 10

Rosedown Plantation State Historic Site will host tours of the house where visitors can learn about the military members of Rosedown's Turnbull-Bowman family. Hours are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday.

Memorial Day Painting Class - Baton Rouge

7248 Perkins Road, Suite F

Participants will paint a "Star Spangled Sky" on a 16"x20" canvas at Painting and Pinot on Memorial Day evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Cost is $35. Bring your own beverage.
